Stephen Schmidt, Chief Information Security Officer for Amazon’s cloud-computing line, shared that Covid-19 has forced them to double down on a zero-trust model. Mr. Schmidt told the Wall Street Journal that the pandemic reinforced the importance of adopting this model.
A zero-trust model requires that systems check users’ identities at different points and utilize automatic monitoring tools to thwart hackers. These tools keep a lookout for unusual activity or spikes in traffic that could indicate a security breach or even a malicious employee.
